A Glasgow shopping centre is stepping away from the world of online dating to help customers find love this Valentines Day.

Silverburn will be holding an exclusive Tea Dance this Thursday in a nod to years gone by.

The shopping centre will transport guests to the 1940s with an afternoon of old-fashioned romance in the middle of the busy mall.

Local band Awkward Family Portraits will provide the perfect soundtrack, filling the mall with a selection of nostalgic favourites and dancers from Glasgow Jitterbugs will show shoppers how it’s done with captivating mini-performances to entertain crowds and encourage shoppers, young and old, to try their hand at a little quickstep, foxtrot or cha-cha.

David Pierotti, general manager of Silverburn said: “Love is in the air at Silverburn and we’re thrilled to be stepping back in time this Valentine’s Day and warming the hearts of our shoppers with a good, old-fashioned dance.

"We’d like to invite the people of Glasgow to add a spring to their step and join us for what’s sure to be an unforgettable afternoon of family fun, great music and old school romance."
