THESE dramatic pictures show the scale of the fire which has closed a section on the bust M74 motorway.
The incident first came to light just after 8am on Twitter when Traffic Scotland raised the alarm.

Emergency services rushed to the motorway at junction 8 Canderside to deal with a car transporter which burst into flames.

Eyewitness Peter Gibson was at the scene and managed to stop to take the images.
As of 10.15am, Traffic Scotland said there had been no change to closures in the area.
