Music lovers have been given a second helping of good news following the reopening of Fopp Byres Road.

Braehead's hmv branch reopened today, more than a month after the company went into administration.

Bosses at the branch said the move was the "best outcome for staff and customers."

HMV Managing Director, Neil Taylor comments "I am extremely proud of our staff who are the most knowledgeable and committed people you will meet, and so it is extremely gratifying to see this store open again, I greatly appreciate the support of all our customers and the landlord which made re-opening this store possible".

It comes a week after Fopp Byres Road was saved by a last-minute buyer.

Doug Putman stepped in to save the shop, commenting: "I am proud to say we have the most knowledgeable and committed staff, and it gives me great pleasure to see such a well loved and renowned part of Scottish music retail history open for business ready to welcome all of our loyal customers once again."
