A body recovered from a loch is believed to be that of missing man Allan Burns.
Police were called to a report of a body found in the water at Castle Semple Loch, Lochwinnoch, around 8.55am on Sunday.
Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of 71-year-old Mr Burns has been informed.

The pensioner, from Kilbarchan in Renfrewshire, suffered from dementia and had been missing for more than three weeks.
He was last seen on January 18 just past Castle Semple in Lochwinnoch.
A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
