Scott Brown netted a 90th minute winner as Celtic moved eight points clear at the top of the league.

The Celtic captain was dismissed in a chaotic finale to the game after receiving a second yellow card for launching himself into the crowd.

A number of supporters also ran onto the pitch in the aftermath of the deflected goal. In truth, it was a goal that looked as though it was never going to come on what was a largely frustrating day for Brendan Rodgers's side.

Kilmarnock had Kirk Broadfoot sent off with 15 minutes of the game to go for an over the ball challenge on Brown, a dismissal that changed the flow of the game in Celtic's favour.

The Parkhead side finished with the three strikers on the park - Oliver Burke, Timothy Weah and new signing Vakoun Issouf Bayo but it was Brown who broke the deadlock to give the Hoops their first win at Rugby Park in three games.

Callum McGregor's corner had been headed across goal by Dedryck Boyata and Brown's thumped effort towards goal took a deflection off of Alex Bruce to send Dan Bachmann the wrong way.

It was a goal that broke Kilmarnock's resolve and sparked chaotic scenes as the celebrations spilled out of the stands and onto the pitch.
