POLICE have confirmed they are investigating a "number of incidents" after the Celtic and Kilmarnock clash this weekend.

As previously reported by the Evening Times, striker Kris Boyd took to Instagram after he was hit by a coin thrown by a member of the crowd to hit out at the abuse.

While the former Rangers ace also shared pictures of wrecked seats, blaming Hoops fans for ruining the stadium, "flares and invading the pitch".

A spokesman for Police Scotland told the Evening Times: "We can confirm an investigation is underway following a number of reported incidents at the Kilmarnock v Celtic match on Sunday.

"Officers will be reviewing CCTV as part of the ongoing investigation.

"If anyone has information that can assist officers, please contact Kilmarnock police office via 101."
