TWO suspects are to stand trial charged with killing a man at a post office.

Alan Brown, 63, and 50-year-old Edward Brown are accused of attacking John McGuire in March last year.

The incident is said to have occurred at Cardonald Post Office in the city's Paisley Road West.

Prosecutors claim the pair were acting together when they held the 56-year-old on the ground and stamped on his body.

It is alleged they also pressed his neck and knelt on his back restricting Mr McGuire's breathing.

The Browns today both pled not guilty to a culpable homicide charge during a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.

Lord Arthurson fixed a trial due to begin in September.

Bail for Alan Brown, of the city's Craigton, and Edward Brown, of Renfrew, was continued meantime.
