Police are treating a house fire in the Milton area of the city as deliberate.

Emergency services were called to Scaraway Street around 4.15am on Wednesday morning following reports of a blaze.

A man was treated by paramedics at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "We were called to a report of a fire on Scaraway Street around 4.10am on Wednesday.

"We are continuing our investigations and are treating the fire as wilful."

It comes less than 24 hours after another house in the area.

Firefighters raced to Scalpay Street around 11am on Tuesday following reports of a fire.

Two men and a dog were rescued from the property and were treated by paramedics.

A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "Operations Control mobilised three fire engines to Scalpay Street where firefighters extinguished the fire on the ground floor.

“Firefighters provided oxygen therapy to two male casualties and passed them into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“One dog was also rescued from the property.

“Crews left the scene after the area was made safe.

“The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 4.05am on Wednesday, February 27 to reports of a dwelling fire in Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised four fire engines to Scaraway Street where firefighters extinguished the well-developed fire.

“One male casualty received oxygen therapy from firefighters and was transferred into the care of The Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
