BEARSDEN residents have been warned to watch out for a new style of theft which has resulted in several cars being stolen.
A number of incidents have been reported throughout the area and nearby Milngavie, which sees thieves "fish" car keys through a letterbox.

The thugs are using a long device designed to hook keys in hallways.
Police have warned householders to keep keys and valuables out of sight and far away from any doors or windows.

While officers also insisted all cars, outbuildings and homes are locked up and windows kept closed at night.
