TRIBUTES have been paid online to a 16-year-old boy who died after being found a Kirkintilloch stream.
The youngster, who has been named locally as Michael McDowall, was discovered around 7pm on Saturday near Old Duntiblae Road.
He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after. Pals rushed to pay tribute to the lad, with dozens of well wishers flooding his heartbroken mum's Facebook page with kind words of support.

One wrote: "Rest easy brother."
Another added: "Can't believe this. So sad."
A third said: "Rest in peace, Michael. You won't be forgotten."
His mum Carol simply posted a broken heart emoji.
The teen's death is being treated as unexplained and a report is expected to be sent to the procurator fiscal.
