German Doner Kebab (GDK) officially opened on Monday at the site of the iconic former Odeon.

In homage to the building’s illustrious past, anyone turning up dressed as a movie star or superhero between 1pm and 3pm this Saturday (March 16) will receive a free meal.

A spokesman for the brand said: “GDK is unique because it uses only the best quality succulent lean meat, handmade breads, and signature sauces.”

The innovative firm recently introduced a high-protein Doner Gym Box and the low calorie KCAL Kebab.

GDK began life in Berlin and has spread globally, first through the Middle East, then Asia, followed by continental Europe and finally Scotland.

There are currently 70 outlets worldwide, with 33 in the UK.

More are planned in Canada, USA, Australia and Saudi Arabia this year.
