Glasgow has been named as one of the best cities in the world to visit.

Scotland's largest city appears in the top ten best destinations for people to visit in 2019, among the likes of New York, Melbourne and Los Angeles.

It ranked at number eight in the top 48 cities worldwide by Time Out magazine, in its most recent poll of 34,000 city dwellers.

Writer Malcolm Jack added: "If only Glasgow’s weather looked as bright as its future."

Time Out quizzed anonymous city-dwellers about food, drink, culture, nightlife, community, neighbourhoods, overall happiness and other factors, such as their city’s beauty, affordability and convenience in their poll.
