As Scotland's largest city, there is no shortage of things to do in Glasgow. We pride ourselves on our diversity, culture and heritage. It doesn't take long to feel at home in the city, but to really get to know Glasgow, here's just some of the things that you need to do...

1. Visit a museum

Glasgow Times:

With so much history, it’s almost impossible not to learn something when you’re wandering the streets of Glasgow. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a great place to start. The landmark is always bustling with tourists, excited children and locals who just can’t get enough of the place. With free entry and so much to look at - it's the ideal day out. If you're after something a bit smaller, visit The Lighthouse on Mitchell Lane or the CCA.

2. Grab a drink

If there’s one thing we in Glasgow do well, that’s drink. With new pubs and bars popping up every month, there’s no shortage of places to go. Whether you’re looking for a traditional boozer (try Waxy O’Connor’s or The Horseshoe Bar), cocktail bar (see Bar Soba or Hummingbird) or something a bit edgy (visit Nice N Sleazy or Bloc) - there’s always somewhere to go and we can almost guarantee you'll find good chat.

3. Take a walk

Glasgow Times:

Glasgow might be a densely populated city but we still have a lot of greenery. If the weather is on your side, Kelvingrove Park or Glasgow’s Green is not to be missed. If you want to be beside the water, try a wander beside the Forth and Clyde Canal.

4. See a show

We love a bit of drama and there’s no place better to get it than in one of the city’s theatres. Take a look at the listings for the King’s Theatre, Pavilion Theatre or Theatre Royal and you’re bound to find something you fancy. Not to mention all the smaller theatres we have dotted across the city - like the Oran Mor.

5. Enjoy some live music

Here in Glasgow we pride ourselves on our impeccable music taste and unrivalled music scene. There’s always something going on at one of the many, many music venues. For sweaty basement vibes, check out the likes of Stereo. For open mics, Box is always a good idea and for everything else we have SWG3, The Garage, O2 Academy, The Old Fruitmarket, Barrowland Ballroom, Hug and Pint...need we go on?
