The screen was planned to be used for showing adverts and live and recorded TV images.
It would have installed on an eight-metre high pole on the right of Celtic Way approach to Parkhead, beside the VIP car park, on Kerrydale Street.
City planners rejected the proposal on the grounds that it would distract drivers on nearby London Road.

They added that it would form a “dominant and incongruous feature, to the detriment of visual amenity”.
The club will be able to appeal against the decision.
