The building, adjacent to the proposed South West Way, would consist of one, two and three bedroom flats for affordable rent by Southside Housing Association.

Developers have said they want to 'repair the fragmented city block' and introduce a 'strong sense of public and private space within the development'.

The flats would be car-free with no allocated parking spaces offered to tenants.

Glasgow City Council will look at the plans before deciding whether they can go ahead.

As previously reported by the Evening Times, a new social housing project by Govanhill Housing Association, was unveiled on Wednesday.
