Plans are ramping up for Scotland’s biggest inter-varsity sports in Glasgow.

Over 600 student athletes from the University of Glasgow, the University of Strathclyde, and Glasgow

Caledonian University will take on their bitter rivals for the chance to win the Glasgow Taxis Cup on Wednesday, March 20.

Sponsored by Glasgow Taxis, this year's tournament will see students face offagainst their city rivals in 14 sports at 10 locations.

Stephen Flynn, Glasgow Taxis Ltd chairman, said: “We are very proud to be longstanding supporters of the Glasgow Taxis Cup and await next week’s competition with great anticipation."

“Our new Your City’s Friend brand very much tells the story of our relationship with the three universities in Glasgow.

"Indeed, in 2018 our Safe Home scheme helped more than 150 students get home safely when in situations without money and all alone.

“It’s just another example of what Glasgow Taxis does on a daily basis and shows the value we place on what university life and students from across the world bring to the city.”
