Celtic captain Scott Brown last night hailed Celtic’s tenacity and will-to-win and revealed that Neil Lennon told the players at half-time that he was prepared to wait for a last gasp winner.

The Parkhead side went ten points clear at the top of the table following Odsonne Edouard’s 96th minute winner, a goal that seemed a little prophetic after the conversation that had taken place in the Celtic dressing room at the break.

And despite the fact that there seemed to be a sense of panic to the final minutes of Celtic’s play as they bundled the ball into the Dundee box, Brown insisted that there is always a sense of belief that the goal would come.

“It shows our fitness and our belief to keep going until the 96th minute,” said the Celtic captain.

“We’ve got top quality players on the pitch - James Forrest, Odsonne Edouard and Scott Sinclair will score goals.

“We’ve always got that bit of faith that they’ll put the ball in the back of the net and the manager said if it takes 45 minutes or 49 minutes in the second half he was willing to wait.

“We could have pushed more people forward and ended up causing ourselves problems but we defended well in the second half.

“Dundee pushed us all the way and made it hard but we created that chance yet again in the last minute.

“A lot of people would have been watching this game and hoping we dropped points but it wasn’t going to be.”

Forrest clipped the bar with the very last kick of the ball as Dundee, winded by the crushing timing of the strike, seemed to collapse.
