Police Scotland is treating the death of a man in Greenock as suspicious.

Officers were called to a property in Nelson Street, Greenock after reports of a man with serious injuries. 

Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 29-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident as well as the identity of the deceased.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Greenock Police have said they would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Nelson Street, Greenock between midnight and 5.45am on Sunday, March 24, 2019 and who may have witnessed anything suspicious.
