A TATTOO shop in Glasgow has announced it will be taking part in the worldwide campaign known as the Semicolon Project to help raise awareness of suicide.
Kaya Studio, on Dumbarton Road, will be offering reduced prices for semicolon tattoos on April 5 in a bid to raise awareness.
Tattoo shops across the country will be joining them as part of the UK mass event.
The semicolon was chosen as the international symbol for the prevention and awareness of suicide due to its use in writing - it is used when intending to carry on with a sentence instead of bringing it to an end.
Celebrities including Selena Gomez have shown their support for the movement by getting their own semicolon tattoo. Selena Gomez is well known for being an advocate for suicide awareness following her production role in the Netflix show 13 Reasons Why.
The semicolon tattoos will cost £10 each and all proceeds will go to charity.
Kaya Studio have said walk-ins are available from 11am to 6pm on Friday, April 5.
If you wish to support the project, but do not want a tattoo, the studio will also be accepting donations.
