A MAN was 'chased with a weapon' in Castlemilk in an early evening incident.

Police and ambulance crews were all spotted in the area shortly after 5.30pm as emergency services responded to calls.

Locals said six police cars and a police van could be seen speeding up Aikenhead Road towards Stravanan Road.

An ambulance was also spotted on site.

Police Scotland confirmed officers had attended the scene and said enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.

Last night an elderly woman was robbed in her Castlemilk home and in hospital after three thugs robbed her of precious jewellery and cash.

The 84-year-old suffered a wrist injury and has been left "badly shaken" following the terrifying ordeal.

Cops are hunting three men who forced their way into the victim's home around 9.20pm before making off with a sum of cash and jewellery.
