GLASGOW’S grudge match ended in a 2-1 win to Celtic yesterday, with the players descending into a brawl on the final whistle.

The fierce match saw one red card for Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos for lashing out at Scott Brown.

The post-match scuffle resulted in Gers player Andy Halliday receiving a second yellow card.

Hoops defender Mikael Lustig and Gers keeper Wes Foderingham were also shown yellow cards for their part in the brawl.

The attendance was reported to be 58,773 at Celtic Park and emotions were high.

Six arrests were made in and around the stadium according to Police Scotland. Three people were arrested for a “sectarian breach”, one for being drunk and incapable, one for resisting arrest and one for trying to get alcohol into the ground.

All were arrested for minor public order offences, Police Scotland said.

Shouts and screams could be heard across Glasgow city centre around lunchtime as the city’s two teams went head to head.

Fans also took to Twitter to express their excitement for the match.

One fan tweeted: “There isn’t a game in football that matches the #OldFirm derby. It always delivers. Unbelievable passion, atmosphere and proper hatred. love it.” Another said: “Best Derby game I’ve seen in some time! Like going back 10 years!”

There were also reports of disturbances in the city centre following the match. Members of the public tweeted that the Toby Jug pub on Hope Street had been attacked by suspected football fans.

In a video on social media a group of men could be seen throwing chairs and smashing the windows of the pub.

In another photo shards of glass could be seen all over the tables inside.

Police Scotland said they were called to reports of a disturbance at the pub around 3.50 pm on Sunday but did not confirm the nature of the incident.
