A MAN was hit with a blunt weapon and had a bag of cash stolen in Rutherglen.
The 45-year-old was placing a holdall bag filled with money into the boot of his car on Hamilton Road near to Main Street around 2pm yesterday when the thug approached.
The suspect made off with the back in a silver Ford Focus which travelled up Hamilton Road towards Stonelaw Road.
The victim did not require medical treatment.
Police are treating the attack as a "planned and targeted incident" and believe the victim may have been followed.

Detective Constable Craig MacKenzie, Cambuslang CID, said: “This was clearly a planned and targeted attack, and although nobody was seriously hurt, a significant amount of money was taken.
“We believe the Ford Focus vehicle that the suspect was travelling had been closely following the 45-year-old man in his own car a short time earlier.
“The Ford Focus has a distinctive “GB” sticker on the rear, and had a number of passengers in it at the time. We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this car in the area either before or after the robbery.
“Officers are currently carrying out CCTV enquiries but we are asking that anyone who may have their own personal CCTV on Hamilton Road, or who may have dash-cam footage from that area to get in touch with us.”
