Leonard Cheshire’s Can Do programme helps people aged 16 to 35 with additional support needs gain new life skills, through taking part in training and volunteering opportunities within their local communities.

Amanda Muncie, Can Do Coordinator in Glasgow, said: “This was an excellent example of partners coming together and building a stronger force.

“We do not focus on what people cannot do, but what they can do – bringing together different skills and abilities.”

Stephen Mitchell, Operations Manager at the Lodging House Mission in Glasgow, said:

“We would like to thank everyone involved in bringing this fantastic community lunch together, but especially the Can Do participants and Possobilities volunteers themselves whose concern and interest has been the main driving force.

“When people can take a moment to lay aside their own priorities to serve to the needs of others it is a mark of true humanity, and we have seen this in action.”
