POLICE are at the scene of a siege in Gourock with the main road through the town closed as a result.
A heavy armed police presence is in attendance outside a block of flats on Shore Street, reports our sister site the Greenock Telegraph.
It is believed the incident began around 6am this morning.

Items appear to have been thrown out of a flat onto the road below.
Police have not yet released any details about the incident.
