OAP bus passenger ‘critical’

AN elderly bus passenger suffered a serious head injury when the vehicle she was travelling in braked suddenly.


The 81-year-old woman was thrown forward while on the number 64 service in Freuchie, Fife, on Monday. Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident, which has left the pensioner critically ill at Victoria Hospital.

Images released as part of bogus caller investigation

Video footage of two men has been released by police investigating bogus caller incidents in Glasgow’s south side.


The incidents took place on Langside Road and Clifford Gardens on November 28 and January 9, last year. Anyone who recognises the men are asked to contact police.


The first man is described as white, of slim build, with dark hair and wearing a dark blue jacket, blue jeans and dark trainers.


The second man is described as white, of heavy build, around 50 years of age, and wearing dark trousers, dark trainers and black skip cap.


Anyone with information should contact police.

Parts of Glasgow hit with powercut

AREAS of Glasgow were hit with a power cut yesterday following an electrical fault.
The Trongate area was without power for around one hour during rush hour. Homes and businesses in the G1, G4 and G40 postcodes were effected.


Scottish Power Energy Network said that power was restored around 5.40pm.

Man’s body discovered

A MAN’S body has been discovered in the Dunlichity area south of Inverness.


The discovery was made by police officers yesterday afternoon. The man is yet to be formally identified but the family of William McDougall, 54, who had been reported missing from Inverness has been informed.

Fears dog thrown from car

A dog was found at a Scots beauty spot with injuries he may have suffered after being thrown from a moving car.


The brindle-and-white lurcher, named Gordon by rescuers, suffered a broken leg after his ordeal.


He was found near Loch Lomond Luxury Cottages in Oakwoods, Stirling, on April 4.
Gordon also suffered cuts to his feet.
