A CHILD outreach worker failed to report a six-year-old girl's complaints about her father touching her chest.

Nazia Hussain was working as a children and young person outreach worker at Hermat Gryffe Women's Aid in Glasgow when the young girl made the complaint on April 20, last year.

The tot, known as AA, told Hussain her dad rubbed his hand on her chest.

But, Hussain failed to follow child protection procedures and did not report the youngster's complaint.

Her actions delayed an investigation into the abuse allegation, which did not begin until September 11.

The Scottish Social Services Council placed Hussain on a warning for one year.

It said: "Your behaviour constituted a careless failure in your duty of care by placing child AA at serious risk of emotional and physical harm by not following policies and procedures specifically aimed at keeping children safe.

"Social service workers must meet relevant standards of practice and work in a lawful, safe and effective way.

"By failing to follow a child protection procedure by reporting that child AA, aged six, had made a disclosure to you placed a vulnerable child at unnecessary risk of harm."
