A POPULAR Glasgow footballer is to be laid to rest next week following his sudden death.
Anton Houghton's family and friends will gather at St Columbkille's Church on Main Street in Rutherglen at 10am on April 24.
They will then travel to St Peter's Cemetery in Parkhead.
His heartbroken sister took to Facebook to alert well wishers to the plans.

She wrote: "Anton will be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 24, at 10am at St Columbkille’s Church on Rutherglen Main Street then on to St. Peter’s Cemetery in Parkhead.
"All friends and family are welcome, the last goodbye for my beautiful baby brother."
It comes after Celtic fans rallied around the 21-year-old's devastated family during yesterday's clash with Aberdeen.

A viral appeal to hold a round of applause for the former Barrhead Youth Football Club in the 21st minute of the match was honoured by Hoops fans.
