It's not yet known what the items were, however, members of public were "concerned" and contacted police.

Detective Inspector Lynsey Watters from Cathcart CID said: “We are currently investigating this incident and trying to establish why these men were in Victoria Road, and whether they had been intending to commit a crime.

“The area would have been busy with people at the time and we are appealing to anyone who noticed men matching the above descriptions running away, or anything at all suspicious, to get in touch.

“We would also urge motorists with dashcams who were nearby to check their footage in case they have captured the men, or possibly a red transit van.

“Additional patrols will be in the area to provide reassurance and any members of the public with concerns are welcome to approach the officers who will be happy to assist."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
