LOCAL groups are celebrating after receiving funding that will support innovative new projects from the UK's first Roma film festival to a primary school's community allotment.
Blackfriars Primary School was given the largest sum of money from the Southside Central Area Partnership.
The Gorbals school was awarded £7225 for a community allotment and community sensory gardens.
Govanhill Baths Community Trust has earned funding of £4600 for its "festival like no other" - the Govanhill International Festival and Carnival.
Community Champion winners Active Life Club, which this year celebrates its 20 anniversary, has been given £4997 towards making the celebrations go with a bang.
Fatima Uygun, of Govanhill Baths Community Trust, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded £4600 from the Southside Central Area Partnership towards the Govanhill International Festival and Carnival, which is now in its third year.
"The grant will enable us to work with local schools, youth and community groups to produce bunting, costumes and decorations for the carnival parade.
"The grant will also deliver children’s activities during the carnival.

"The festival has proved a huge success in celebrating the unique diversity of Govanhill and promoting unity.
"This year's expanded programme includes a book festival as well as CineRoma, the UK's first Roma film festival.
"Thanks to the support of Glasgow City Council, this year's festival, a festival like no other, continues to grow and develop."
Other groups awarded funding in the awards include SEAL Community Health Project, being given £2520 for a project helping social excluded residents.
Queen's Park Arena will now have £5227 towards the cost of upgrading the infrastructure of the arena.
Friends of the Southern Necropolis will be awarded £2990 for a preservation and conservation project.

The Gorbals Fair Committee was granted £3000 for this year's Gorbals Fair Day.
Local councillor Soryia Siddique said: "Active Life Club (ALC) has been transforming lives through sports since 1999.
"It has now reached its landmark anniversary of 20 years and received financial support from the Southside Central Area Partnership to hold a celebration event to mark this occasion.
"I look forward to joining them in the celebration ahead.
"I'm also delighted Blackfriars Primary School received funding in support of a Community Allotment and Community Sensory Garden.
"This will allow children and families to benefit from planting fruit, vegetables and access to the outdoors.
"Govanhill International Carnival and Festival was awarded funding for fun day.
"I look forward to the day packed with story telling, musicians, and carnival involving Holy Cross, Cuthbertson and Annette Street Primary Schools."
