A BRAND new cycling store is set to launch this week in Glasgow.

Evans Cycles have announced they will be celebrating the opening of a brand new store in Glasgow Fort on Saturday.

The shop will become the company's third store in the city, and its fifth in Scotland.

Bosses say the new store represents a strong commitment to helping grow cycling within the region.

To celebrate the opening, Evans Cycles will be giving customers ‘goody bags’ packed full of treats from some of the industry’ biggest brands.

A competition to be in with a chance of winning a £500 gift voucher will also be held, giving one lucky customer the opportunity to treat themselves ahead of the summer season.

Though Saturday marks the launch, the store officially began trading on April 18.

As part of a wider nationwide competition, customers can also test-ride a Brompton Folding Bicycle to be in with a chance of winning the iconic M6L edition.

With data showing that around 75 per cent of all journeys in Glasgow are under 5 kilometres, the company feel there is a huge potential to transform the way people move around the city.
