AFTER news broke of the passing of Lisbon Lion Billy McNeill, the tributes for Celtic’s greatest-ever captain have continued to flood in.
Fans flooded to the statue of Cesar throughout Wednesday, with dozens still gathering following the death of a footballing legend.
The first ever British footballer to lift the European Cup died on Tuesday aged 79 after living with dementia.
The statue of the great man has now been covered in scarfs, flowers and other Celtic memorabilia, as devastated fans looked on.
Football fans from across the divide in Glasgow came to pay their respects as well.
One Rangers fan travelled to Celtic Park to lay a Rangers scarf at the feet of McNeill, receiving a round of applause from touched onlookers as he did so.
The club itself will pay tribute to its former player and manager by wearing shorts with McNeill’s number 5 on them for this weekend's match against Kilmarnock.
