AN EIGHTH man has appeared in court charged with the brawl on Merchant City after the last Old Firm game.

Jamie Kinnaird, 25, was charged at Glasgow Sheriff Court today for the offence on Blackfriar Street on March 31 this year.

His charges include two assaults, one of which to severe injury and breach of the peace.

Kinnaird did not make a plea to his charges.

He was bailed by Sheriff Martin Jones QC pending further investigation and his next court date is in the next eight days.

Kyle Beard, 24, appeared on Saturday charged with two attempted murders, one of which to severe injury.

One of the attempted murders was on Francis McCann, 47, who is still recovering from his wounds in hospital.

Jack Docherty, 27, also appeared last week for assaulting McCann.

His charges are the assault on McCann and punching him on the head, assaulting another man and kicking him on the body, assaulting a third man and punching him on the head.

Gemma Martin, 24, William Barclay, 27, Kahl Cullen, 23, James Quinn, 21 and Andrew Quinn, 25, also appeared last week for their parts in the brawl.
