How to Make the Most of Your London Business Trip

If you’re heading to this cosmopolitan city on a business trip, you should try and make the most of your down time to take in some of the amazing things that the city has to offer.

As everyone knows, there’s an abundance of tourist attractions in London, but if time if something you are short on, you might want to skip any that you need to spend the day queueing for. Although places like The London Eye and Madame Tausaads are most definitely worth a visit when you have lots of time to spare, there is no shortage of other things that you can do that won’t have you standing around for hours on end.

It can be difficult to know where to start when your time and knowledge of the city is limited. So, we’ve put together a short guide to help you make the most of your business trip.

Southbank

You can’t beat a walk along the Southbank taking in all the eye-catching sights, especially when the sun is shining.  There’s no better way to see iconic landmarks like Big Ben, The London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral all as you stroll along. Why not stop off for beer or a bite to eat at one of the many stops along the way. You can’t beat Mexican Street Food specialist Wahaca for some authentic food and a tasty margarita that won’t blow the bank.

Art Galleries

If you are looking to soak up as much culture as possible on your trip, why not take some time to visit one or two of the many Art Galleries that London has to offer.

Tate Modern

If contemporary art is up your street, you can’t beat a visit to The Tate Modern. Filled with everything from Pop Art to Pre-Raphaelite, there is something for everyone’s taste, a real feast for the eyes.

The National Portrait Gallery

If you want to get a look at some of Britain’s most historically important and famous faces, The National Portrait Gallery is definitely a detour you want to take. And with the National Gallery just next door, it’s the perfect opportunity to tick both off your must see list.

Borough Market

Borough Market is one of the oldest and biggest food markets in London and is definitely worth a trip to try some out of the mouth-watering food they have on offer. You can spend an afternoon having a wander round sampling all the delights from artisan chocolatiers to meat and cheese specialists and everything else in between. There is something for everyone. You could maybe even pick up some produce to take home as a little souvenir.

A Rooftop Bar

You can’t be in London without having a cocktail or two in one of the many rooftop bars available, especially as the warm evenings roll in. What a perfect opportunity to get a fantastic view of the breath-taking skyline while socialising with your friends and colleagues.

The 12th Note rooftop terrace bar, situated on the 12th Floor of the Sea Containers Hotel on The Soutbank is ideal for just that. Although the plush surroundings and the outstanding view don’t come cheap, expect to pay high-end prices for your cocktails, but as a treat, it’s definitely worth it.

Choose somewhere central to stay

When it comes to choosing the right accommodation whilst on your trip, you want to make sure that you are central enough so that you aren’t spending the majority of your visit commuting.
