A CLYDEBANK man who transformed his kitchen for under £50 has been inspiring others to do the same.

Stuart Renton, 27, from Parkhall, took to social media to share the details and photos of how he revamped his kitchen for only £47.50.

He posted in the “Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group” on Facebook  to allow others to give their kitchen a low-cost makeover.

Speaking to our sister piblication, The Clydebank Post, Stuart said: “I had seen the general idea online before but having just gotten a house with my partner I decided to have a go myself - this is the first time I've ever even attempted to do such a thing.”

There was more than 700 comments left with people complimenting Stuart's work.

One said: "Oh I wish I was confident enough to do this!! Yours looks amazing..."

Another added: "No need to always replace the full kitchen, you've done a fab job and looks great. Freshens up a tired old kitchen, very modern."

Only a day later, another group member posted before and after photos of her own kitchen, and she hasn't been the only one.

Amba Douglas wrote: “Moving in to my new place this week and hated the kitchen. I saw a post on here yesterday that was amazing about revamping the kitchen for around 45 pounds so today I took myself to B&Q and revamped mine! I’m so in love.

“Thank you to whoever posted yesterday you have saved me a fortune."

Stuart added: “I was quite shocked although happy that someone else had found my post helpful because there’s nothing worse than not getting enjoyment out of your home.”
