The menu at the Bothwell Street restaurant, which is part of the Living Ventures Group and owned by Blackhouse Restaurants, now focuses on a return to Blackhouse’s roots.

Steak and seafood leads with the introduction of quality PGI-certified Scotch beef to its menu, boasting its best steak selection yet, said bosses.

There is also the exciting addition of a Himalayan salt fridge where steak is stored for 24 hours before serving to make the meat as tender as possible.

Extra emphasis has been placed on quality Scottish seafood featuring the renowned Loch Duart seared salmon and grilled sea bass.

The menu also maintains its lobster options, a bestseller and dining favourite along with some more adventurous options such as chargrilled swordfish and stone bass.

Pop-up bars from Glasgow Distillery Co and Arbikie Gin were in attendance at the grand launch party last week and the teams whipped up drinks including Makar cherry gin brambles to quench goers’ thirst on the night.

Guests were also treated to steak-and chip-boards with a variety of different cuts from the new menu against a backdrop of gold balloons. Dessert consisted of a three-tiered birthday cake, dripping with blackberries and strawberries.

The venue’s new interior refresh was enjoyed by those in attendance, with many commenting on how it further enhances what is already an impressive dining room and bar area.

It retains the unique atmosphere The Grill on The Corner is famous for, while taking a new and modern approach to the interiors.

Blackhouse currently operates three restaurants, located in Glasgow, Manchester and Leeds. The Glasgow branch is the group’s first restaurant in Scotland.

The company’s managing director, Scott Grimbleby, described how he and his team are “really excited” about their spring refresh.

He added: “We have given the restaurant a small tickle in line with our new menus.

“The new food menu is the biggest change we have seen for a number of years at Blackhouse.

“It’s part of a bigger plan to refresh the brand, while maintaining the restaurants position as the ‘old favourite’ of Glasgow, somewhere our guests can hunker down, relax and enjoy a fantastic food and drink experience.

“The Grill on the Corner has been a bastion of the Glasgow dining scene for the past 12 years and I’m proud to say we will remain as such for many more to come.”
