POLICE have released CCTV footage of a man who may be able to help their investigation into an assault with intent to rob.

A staff member at Paddy Power was assaulted in a "terrifying attack" in the Brandon Parade East, Merry Street shop in Motherwill around 9.25pm on March 2.

The man is described as white, 5ft 5- 5ft 8ins, 35 to 45-years-old, short greying hair, wearing a blue coloured hooded top, grey jogging trousers and black trainers with white sole.

Detective Sergeant Scott Wilson, Wishaw Police Office, said: “This was a terrifying attack on a member of staff, who was simply going about her duties in her place of work.

"This is a busy area and I would urge anyone who either saw this man, or who recognises his description to come forward to contact us."

Any information should be passed to Detectives at Wishaw Police Office through 101.
