Firefighters are tackling a major blaze at a construction site in Glasgow's East End.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze on Olympia Street in Bridgeton, at around 2.10am on Thursday morning.

Dozens of firefighters remain on the scene to bring the fire, which took hold of a four-storey building, under control.

A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Services were alerted at around 2:10am this morning to reports of a fire in Glasgow.

"Operations control mobilised a number of appliances to Olympia Street where firefighters are currently tackling a fire in a four-storey building. There are no casualties and crew remain on the scene."

London Road is currently closed between Bridgeton Cross and Brook Street.

There are no known diversions in place.
