HOLLYWOOD superstar Hugh Jackman was among guests enjoying lobster and champagne cocktails at a new £1 million restaurant at Glasgow's Blythswood Hotel.

The Greatest Showman actor enjoyed a nightcap after his sell-out SSE Hydro show at Bo & Birdy on Thursday night, which is headed up by Scotland's first female five-star executive head chef.

This Is Me singing sensation and fellow Greatest Showman actress Keala Settle was also tucking into the new menu alongside the Aussie actor.

Jackman is understood to have been staying in the hotel's £3,000-a-night penthouse suite, which is a favourite with celebrities staying in the city.

According to executive head chef, Gillian Matthews, Bo & Birdy celebrates Scottish cuisine, 'with a twist.' The opulent velvet tones of the previous restaurant have been replaced with earthy, understated tones.

Murray Thomson, General Manager of the Blythswood Square Hotel said: "We are thrilled to introduce Bo & Birdy to Glasgow’s thriving dining scene.

“The glitz, glamour and 5-star service at Blythswood will remain.”
