A new street food market could be launched beside the River Clyde in Glasgow's city centre.

Plans have been submitted by Platform on the Broomielaw to hold the market on open space at 1 to 5 Custom House Quay Gardens, between South Portland Street suspension bridge and Glasgow Bridge.

The licensed market would have the capacity for 500 people - 100 seated and 400 standing.

It would operate every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 10pm over the summer.

Accompanied children and young people would be permitted until 8pm.

The market would include mobile street food trucks and two 20-foot, side-opening shipping containers located in the Tiger Mural area of the site.

Pine decking would be installed in the mural area with the containers in place from May to September.

The river front path would remain open while the market was in operation and crowd barriers would be in place.
