A man who disappeared from his home in Dennistoun has not been seen in three days after being picked up in Birmingham.

James McCann has been missing from his home on Broompark Drive since May 2.

The 43-year-old is described as white, 5ft 9 to 5ft 10, of medium build with mousy brown short hair, blue eyes and has a tattoo 'Michelle' on his left arm. It is not known what he was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

He had told his family on Wednesday May 1 that he was going to travel to London, however, concern was raised for him when nobody could get in touch with him.

James has no mobile phone on him and his family is unsure whether he has access to money.

Sergeant Stuart Ash, Shettleston Police Office, said: "We have a sighting of James around 2 pm on Tuesday 7 May in Birmingham, at a TSB bank on Walsall Road in Birmingham. We believe he may have friends in this area, however given that he told his family he was going to London, we cannot rule out that may have continued on from Birmingham.

"We know he does not have his mobile phone with him and do not know whether he has money with him, or any access to any.

"Officers are continuing to check CCTV, and work with bus companies and British Transport Police, however despite these extensive enquiries, there have been no further sightings of him in the past three days.

"James has been dealing with some personal issues and requires to take medication which, if he doesn't take, can affect his health which is concerning if he does not have it with him."

He added: "He is close to his family and usually keeps in touch with them regularly so as time passes, they are growing increasingly concerned.

"We, and of course James' family, just want him to either come home or get in touch to let us know he is well, so we would ask him to call someone as soon as possible.

"Anyone with any information is urged to get in touch with Police via 101, quoting incident number 1365 of Monday 6 May 2019."
