TEEN killer Aaron Campbell has been granted an appeal against his 27-year sentence for murdering and raping tiny Alesha MacPhail.

The Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service confirmed the 16-year-old will have his appeal held before three judges on August 7.

Evil Campbell was convicted of killing the six-year-old schoolgirl on the Isle of Bute in July 2018.

He abducted and raped Alesha, before murdering her and dumping her body in woodland.

Campbell denied the offences throughout a two-week trial, before admitting to the horrific crimes during his sentence hearing.

The latest news will come as another blow to tragic Alesha's family, after the girl's devastated mum Georgina Lochrane reportedly wants to look killer Aaron Campbell in the eye and ‘ask why he raped and killed her girl’.

The grieving 24-year-old, from Airdrie, said that she has been left tormented and ‘unable to get out of bed’ since twisted Campbell lodged an appeal against his sentence.

An unnamed family insider told the Scottish Daily Express that Alesha's mum is "struggling to get out of bed."

The family friend told the newspaper: "She wants to sit opposite him, look into his eyes and ask why. She feels it is her right."
