A ROBBER helped get himself caught due to his free bus pass.
John Paul Regan initially held up a shop in Tollcross days after Christmas last year.
He then travelled by bus that morning to Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.

It was there the 37-year-old robbed another shop claiming he would “shoot” a worker.
Prosecutor Sheena Fraser told the High Court in Glasgow: “He was identified by police as a result of these bus journeys from CCTV footage.
“There was also the use of his concessionary bus pass registered in his name.”

It emerged during the first robbery Regan had used a dumbbell wrapped in a bag to look like a weapon.
The second raid involved a branch again in a bag.
The court was told Regan, of Calton, had borrowed cash for Christmas presents and had been unable to pay it back.

Lord Arthurson jailed him for a total of five years and four months after he pled guilty to two assault and robbery charges.
