A POPULAR Glasgow noodle bar has closed its city centre branch just months after opening a second eatery.

Ramen Dayo on Queen Street announced it was forced to close due to circumstance outwith owner Paul Beveridge's control.

The noodle joint didn't reveal what caused the shop to shut but insisted it's Ashton Lane site "remains open and thriving".

In a Facebook post, he said: "Today I have to announce that due to circumstances outwith my control, the Queen Street City Centre Branch is now permanently closed - with no further involvement of myself or our team.

"Ashton Lane remains open and thriving.

"As much as it pains me to see the old location go, this is the most positive change possible for Ramen Dayo."

Paul confirmed he would be searching for a new city centre location to replace the former Queen Street site, but urged loyal customers to visit the west end location in the meantime.
