Star actors from across the globe could be set to take to the streets of Glasgow as a hit American TV show begins filming in the city. 

HBO's political drama Succession, made by Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay, is reportedly setting up to begin filming at Blythswood Square. 

The satirical comedy-drama's second season is due to be released later this year, with Scottish actor Brian Cox playing one of the show's main characters.

Previous seasons have made mention of the character's Scottish roots, with sites in Scotland, including Glasgow, expected to be included in upcoming episodes. 

The series centres on the Roy family, the owners of a media empire and has seen reasonable success since debuting last year, winning Best International Programme at the BAFTA TV Awards.

As part of this, Glasgow may see big names from the big screen in the city over the coming weeks, with Will Ferrell on staff as an executive director. 

Pride and Prejudice star Matthew Macfadyen is another on the cast, alongside, Keiran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Hiam Abbass and Sarah Snook, who could be travelling to Scotland.
