THE appointment of Steve Clarke as the new Scotland manager sparked many comments online. Here’s a selection...

Good luck Steve

He has all the credentials, shame the same can’t be said of the players at his disposal.

However he got the best out of a less talented squad at Kilmarnock so here’s hoping.

Everybody should get behind him as he’s not saddled with Old Firm baggage.

He strikes me as a man who won’t tolerate players picking and choosing when they play.

Not before time, a Scotsman should be proud to pull on the jersey, not making excuses about minor injuries or plastic pitches. Good luck Stevie, you’ll need it.

Time to get behind him

A GOOD appointment – he has a good eye for picking players that will play well together.

We need the fans to get behind the manager and team starting with a good crowd against Cyprus a win will bring them back he will also make Scotland hard to beat again plus pick players that are on form

Best man for job

Best man for the job, third place and European place with a team who nearly got relegated last year. Good luck Mr Clarke.

Clarke can inspire stars

I THINK Steve Clarke will get the best out of the players we have available to the national side. There are youngsters who also deserve a chance and I reckon can help inspire them.
