A THUG who battered a Good Samaritan in the street has been jailed for 32 months.

Declan Sinclair, 25, assaulted the man on Sauchiehall Street in February.

The 50-year-old victim was attacked after initially going to the aid of a woman who Sinclair had also turned on.

Sinclair's shoe print was left on her face as a result of the assault.

A sheriff heard how the male victim was knocked unconscious after then being punched and kicked.

He was so badly hurt he was off work for three months at an intensive care unit.

Sinclair, of Toryglen, was locked up after he pled guilty to the two assaults.

Glasgow Sheriff Court was told the woman had been verbally abused by a woman in the early hours of February 5.

Sinclair - who knew the woman - then pounced on her.

Prosecutor Harry Findlay said she was shoved to the ground before being repeatedly punched.

Mr Findlay said: “[The victim] saw what was happening and became involved to try and stop it.
