Glasgow-born singer Lewis Capaldi has proved he's much more than just a singing voice - by going undercover as a Greggs employee.

The Someone You Loved singer surprised residents and festival goers in Middlesbrough this morning ahead of his hugely anticipated North East performances this weekend.

The 22-year-old dressed in the full uniform - including a hairnet and name badge - during his 'work experience' on Stokesley Road in Middlesbrough.

Taking to Instagram after his 'shift', Lewis described the uniform as 'class', and said that he was asked to leave his last job after just one hour.

Fans quickly flocked to the store to be served breakfast, sandwiches and coffee from the singer-turned-counter assistant.

His LP, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, scored 89,506 combined sales within its first week, making it the fastest-selling album of 2019 so far.
