ACTORS from some of Scotland's best loved TV shows are making their way around Glasgow, bring top quality to communities across the city.

The adaptation Low Pay? Don’t Pay!, will be performed at a cumber of community venues in the area, bring a uniquely Glaswegian take on a classic satirical play.

Written by Johnny McKnight, Low Pay? Don’t Pay! and adapted from Italian Nobel prize winner Dario Fo’s Can’t Pay? Won’t Pay!, the play follows a group of women who lose patience with low pay and rising prices before taking direct action.

McKnight, best known for his well-loved scripts for the Tron Theatre’s hugely popular pantomimes and River City, brings this fast moving, hilarious tale to present day Glasgow.

He said: "For me, what’s brilliant about this type of play, and why it’s been on the go for years in different forms, is it’s not only affordable but it’s made for the audience, and the audience totally makes the play. Low Pay? Don’t Pay! is made for the people of Glasgow, using their words.

“I think a lot of people think that theatre is a dull and boring art form and I don’t believe that; for me, there’s nothing more joyous than a play that laughs with the audience. People go to the panto every year because they know what it is, it’s guaranteed a laugh, guaranteed daftness and guaranteed it’ll be over the top. But the panto still talks to them and that’s what this play does too.”
