A MAN whose body was discovered in a Knightswood home had previously featured in a documentary about Scottish prison Barlinnie with star Ross Kemp.

Hugh Sinclair, whose body was discovered on Monday alongside his partner Lizzie McShane in the couple's Culbin Drive property, was locked up when the former Eastenders actor went inside the jail in 2017.

The 33-year-old became an internet sensation when he told the English documentary maker inmates would "punch you out of your trainers" and described the Riddrie establishment as a "bear pit".

Ross told the audience Hugh had a "history of violence" and had done a "few stints" in Barlinnie prior to the programme.

While speaking to the star, he said: "Don't growl ... don't walk about giving it the hard man, because, f***, people will just punch you right out of your trainers here, mate.

"This yard can kick off in two minutes, mate. It can happen in a heartbeat ... it's a dangerous jail to be in."

He told Ross people were frequently attacked and slashed within the prison.

Police revealed they are treating the deaths of Hugh and 39-year-old Lizzi as suspicious.

Lizzi leaves behind two young girls, while it's understood Hugh is also a dad-of-two.

A fundraising page has been set up for the girls.

A post mortem examination took place yesterday and a report is due to be sent to the procurator fiscal.
