STUDENTS learning the art of make-up at the Clydebank campus of West College Scotland have been showcasing their work at end-of-year events.

HNC Fashion Make-up students wowed guests, including industry professionals, at 29 Royal Exchange Square, with a catwalk of models.

Each model demonstrated a make-up look influenced by a brand, fashion label or celebrity icon chosen by the students.

Meanwhile, HND Make-up Artistry students at SWG3 transported their guests to a land of fantasy where spectacular visuals were brought to life with mythical creatures, monsters and fairy-tale characters.

After enjoying learning to create more in depth special effects, Ashley Kerr, 24 from Clydebank, took inspiration for her piece from one of her favourite video games, Fallout.

Ashley told our sister publication, the Clydebank Post: “I found the event very stressful but so rewarding seeing something you’ve worked for months on come together.”

Meanwhile, Kailey McAndie, 22 from Drumchapel, said: “I really enjoyed learning about the different media make-up products that they use for film and TV. The variety of products is endless and so creative, there’s no limit to your creative mind-set.

“I really took a liking to using and making silicone prosthetics as they are very real looking, and they add that extra creepy factor.”

Kailey took inspiration for her work from the TV series Game of Thrones.

The student had the idea in mind since she finished her HNC in Fashion Make-up.

She added: “I wanted to make Daenerys Targaryen turn into one of her dragons and I wanted it to be powerfully beautiful but also creepy. I am intensely proud of my work I created.”
